The City of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Departmetn has both a 420/Laser Racing Team and an Optimist Racing Team that travel nationally to compete in top junior events throughout the year. We host three high school racing teams and one college team in the spring and fall seasons. Lake Forest Sailing was named by U.S. Sailing as the 2002 Outstanding Year Round Program and in 2003 was honored with the Illinois Parks & Recreation Outstanding Program Award. The City of Lake Forest’s Sailing Program is one of the premier community sailing programs in the country.
