Yacht Description:
Construction: Hull and Deck
A 2rd generation TP 52 \\"Braveheart\\" is without question one of if not the Strongest TP 52 built to date. \\"Braveheart\\" was designed by Bakewell-White Yacht Design, Engineered by High Modules and built in carbon/nomex by the team at Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders all three companies based in Auckland, New Zealand. \\"Braveheart\\" is a tough, lightweight, Modern Racing Yacht that represents the best in New Zealand boatbuilding.

In the Fall of 2008 \\"Braveheart\\" completed and extensive re-fit to optimize her for IRC. She has a current 2009 IRC rating certificate. Her $200,000+ refit included modifications to the Keel, Top-Sides, Deck Layout, Winch Grinder Upgrades, the addition of Several NORTH 3DL SAILS, The Bottom was Faired and more. In the Fall of 2009 the Hydraulic Backstay Adjuster was removed and winches installed for easy and fast backstay adjustment.

She is not a typical Med Cup TP52. \\"Braveheart\\" is an high performance racing yacht capable of extended and rigorous offshore racing that will not disappoint!!!

Accomodations
Braveheart\\" has a typical Race Boat interior with a unique high quality finish. Wood trim accents add warmth to the interior and an exceptional laminating standard was maintained throughout the build. The interior hull surface is clear varnished.

The accommodations are larger than a current TP 52 and makes sailing offshore or just working on the boat a bit easier. There are 5 berths aside, a line/hanging locker, galley with sink and 3 burner stove, large ice chest, proper chart table in the large nav station. The head is located on the forward side of the main bulkhead. There is a curtain for privacy.

About me:
Tom Sitzmann is the former head coach of the nationally recognized Severn School Sailing Team. In just his third year with the program, Severn School won the Mallory Trophy, US High School Sailing's National Championship. Severn is the first and only Chesapeake Bay school ever to win a National Championship. Sitzmann came to Severn after working as the head coach for the Bowdoin College intercollegiate dinghy sailing team in 1999-2005, where he led the Polar Bears to new heights in team racing, dinghy and women's sailing. While in Maine he also started his own successful sail-making business. Before Bowdoin, Sitzmann coached sailing at the US Naval Academy. Sitzmann has won New-England and Mid-Atlantic district championships in the Laser and J/24 classes, and holds top national finishes in the J/24 & J/22 Classes. He now sails a J/120 with his family and occasionally races a 505. You can reach Tom at tom@sail1design.com
