FINAL NOTICE OF RACE
2010 INTERCLUB DINGHY MIDWINTER CHAMPIONSHIP
January 30-31, 2010
Severn Sailing Association, Annapolis, MD
Organizing Authority: Annapolis InterClub Fleet and the Severn Sailing Association
Hosting Club: Severn Sailing Association, 311 First Street, Annapolis MD
Rules: The regatta will be governed by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2009-2013, the prescriptions of US SAILING, except as modified by the prescriptions of the IC Technical Regulations for the InterClub Dinghy Class, effective April 20, 1997, and the Sailing Instructions. The following additional rules are in effect for the regatta:
1.All competitors shall wear life jackets at all times while on the water except for brief periods of time when clothing is being added or removed from under the life jacket.
2.Bow and sail numbers are required. The bow number does not have to match the sail number, however each bow and sail number must be unique, i.e. no other registered InterClub may display the same number on either the bow or sail. If two yachts have the same number on either the bow or sail, the yacht whose actual hull number matches that number shall have priority for that number. The bow number shall be placed within 1 foot of the bow stem, be at least 10 inches in height, and be of contrasting color to be hull.
3.On the water judges may be used to enforce RRS 42 (Propulsion).
Advertising: This regatta is classified as a Category A event (Appendix G3).
Regatta Format: The InterClub Midwinters is a “collegiate style” event. Each team shall be sailed by “A” and “B” divisions consisting of separate skippers and crews. A single crew shall not sail both divisions. Both A and B divisions shall use the same boat and sail. Typically each division will sail two or three races followed by a short intermission to allow for the divisions to switch.
Entry: Entries shall be submitted on the Official Entry Form accompanied by the $70.00/division ($140 total) entry fee. A discount of $15 ($55.00/division) will be offered to college teams. Late entries will be required to pay an additional late fee of $10/division ($20 total). Entries must be post-marked by January 20, 2010 to avoid the late fee. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, however late entries will be accepted until 9:00 am January 30, with the additional late fee. Mail entry form and appropriate fees to:
